A very warm welcome to Nawton Community Primary School We are a small village school which prides itself on creating a happy, caring, family atmosphere where everyone is encouraged and inspired to achieve their full potential, develop a love of learning and to be focussed and resilient learner. Our children lie at the heart of everything we do and every decision within the school is made by considering what is in the best interest of our children.
Our intention is that all Nawton children have SPIRIT:
Strong sense of community
Pride in all that they do, Independence, Resilience and perseverance when facing challenges, Inquisitive thinking, Tolerance, kindness and respect to all others. |
We recognise that strong self-esteem is essential in enabling our children to lead happy and successful futures and we aim to ensure that our pupils leave us as caring, happy, confident and adaptable young people, equipped with good academic skills, an enthusiasm and a passion to be 'life-long' learners.
Please take the time to browse our site and find out more about our lovely school. You are more than welcome to visit us and meet our friendly children and staff.
We look forward to welcoming you to our special school and working with you and your child.

The Nawton and Rosedale Abbey Community Primary Schools Federation consists of two vibrant, creative and highly supportive primary schools situated twelve miles apart. Both schools have a long and proud history of serving their communities. The Federation prides itself on providing a friendly, caring, family environment within which all children can flourish.
Our collaboration began in 2010 with a clear vision of:
- raising aspirations,
- developing strong communities
- valuing the diversity of each individual school.
In 2012 we became a formally federate.
Both schools are unique and that is what makes us special but we are ‘Better Together’. That vision still holds true today as we move forward.
We believe that we work ‘better together’.
- Staff work together– improving practice and developing partnerships;
- Children work together– improving learning and building relationships;
- Our budget is brought together– improving resources and best value; and
- Leadership works together– improving opportunities and outcomes for children.
- We are constantly challenging ourselves and each other through the networkswe have built between us, but also with other school communities.
- We learn from each other’s strengths and supporteach other with areas for development.
- We are constantly striving for excellence, to secure high levels of achievement and to provide outstanding opportunities for all our children.
