School Meals

We are very proud of our School Meals, cooked on site by Mrs Penny Harper in our very own school kitchen, sometimes even using our very own, home grown vegetables!

Most children do take a cooked meal and September 2014 will see the introduction of the Govenrment's programme aimed at providing the option of a free school meal for all children from Reception to Y2.

We pride ourselves on our Family Service at lunch times.

The children sit at tables of eight, where older children serve, with the help of midday supervisors.  No child is forced to eat anything they don't like, but we do expect them to try a little bit of everything.  There is usually the chance of a second helping and special diets can be catered for.

Dinner Money

From September 2014, children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be entitled to free school meals.

For children not within this group, please send the right amount of money cash or cheque, in a labelled, sealed envelope. Cheques should be made payable to "Nawton Community Primary School".  You may wish to pay by cheque for half a term or the whole term in advance.  Please contact Mrs Grice or Mrs Brown in the School Office.
Forms to apply for free school meals for children who are not in Reception or KS1 are also available from the School Office.
